Bybit Hack Raises Questions Over Safe's Transaction Security
The Bybit cryptocurrency exchange was hacked for approximately $1.4 billion in ether, marking the largest exploit in crypto history. Research platform Arkham Intelligence claims the hack is linked to the North Korea-associated Lazarus Group. The hacker transferred around 400,000 ETH from Bybit's cold wallet and distributed it across multiple wallets. Bybit CEO Ben Zhou attributed the incident to an exploit in the user interface of the company's multisignature wallet provided by Safe, a popular wallet provider in the Ethereum ecosystem.
